This Privacy Policy explains how BookWorm ("the App"), developed by Biagio Paolino, handles user data on iOS.
BookWorm is built with a privacy-first architecture. The App does not require account registration, does not create external user profiles, and does not track user activity across apps or websites for advertising or commercial purposes.
All data entered into the App—including your library, reading sessions, ratings, reviews, notes, collections, goals, and custom settings—is stored locally on your device.
If you enable iCloud sync, your data is securely stored and synchronized across your devices via Apple’s CloudKit infrastructure within the private container iCloud.com.BiagioPaolino.BookWorm. The developer has no access to, cannot view, and does not retain any copies of data synced through iCloud. All cloud storage is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
When you search for a book, scan a barcode, or look up cover images and author information, the App sends the text you entered (such as an ISBN, a title, or an author name) to the following public services, solely to retrieve the result:
These requests do not include your library, your name, your email address, or any account identifier. As with any internet request, the service contacted can see your IP address; how each service handles it is described in its own privacy policy. The developer does not operate these services and does not receive these requests.
The App uses the camera only to scan the ISBN barcode of a book. The scan is processed on your device, and no image is stored or transmitted. The App requests add-only access to your photo library solely to save a Reader Card image that you choose to export.
The one-time BookWorm Premium purchase is processed directly by Apple through the App Store (StoreKit). The developer does not collect, process, or store any financial, payment, or billing details.
BookWorm does not contain any third-party tracking frameworks, advertising SDKs, or external analytics services.
